Malacca Historical City is a private tour with a local driver guide via Kuala Lumpur on a one-day trip. Most of the program will be on foot walking through the historical sites of Malacca city. Travellers shall learn on the chronologies from the early establishment of Malacca through the golden era of the Sultanate’s empire of Malacca, the Portuguese, Dutch and British.

Travellers also shall be introduced to the unique hybrid culture when the influx of Chinese traders and Indian traders and labourers entered this part of the world in the 1800 century. All this resulting the colourful culture and cuisine diversity which formed what Malaysia is today.

Historical Malacca City Itinerary

I (we) going to grab you from the hotel lobby by 0730 or 0800hrs for an approximately 2 hours journey to Malacca.

Upon arrival in Malacca City after quite a long drive, indulge & relax by getting on board the Malacca River Cruise that shall take you for an approximately 30-45 minutes ride along the historic Malacca river. The return trip of 9 kilometres will offer you scenic & colourful historical buildings, pre-war shophouses & vibrant types of bridges. Plus a tranquil Malay village with colourful wooden houses styled from Malay architecture.

Showcasing the history of the Chinese traders that were lured by Malacca’s burgeoning success & wealth, these traders went to marry local Malay women and as the result, the descendent of these marriages were known as Baba & Nyonya or Peranakan or Straits-born Chinese.

The tour will be guided by the museum’s in-house guide that will walk you through their private collections, arts & furniture that show their wealth with the property itself influenced by a mixture of Dutch & Greco-Roman columns, artistic Chinese tiles & lit up with Victorian chandeliers.

Criss-cross architecture styles from Sumatran, Chinese, Indian & the local Malay with Pagoda design minaret, the mosque is one of the oldest mosques in Malacca which the original wooden structure was built by Indian-Moslem traders in 1748 and in 1872 it was rebuilt in bricks.

Blended with English & Portuguese glazed tiles, symmetrical arches Corinthian columns in the main prayer hall with an ablution pool just next to the mosque. An excellent influence of architecture & design reflects the people embracing the multi-cultures hence nurturing the history & traditions that make what Malaysia is now.

Also known as the Temple of Green Cloud, this Chinese temple practices three Doctrinal Systems- Buddhism, Confucianism & Taoism. Early constructed in 1645 and additional structures were added up in 1673, the temple survived the ravages of time. It is the oldest functioning temple in the country and was awarded by UNESCO for outstanding architectural restoration in 2003.

The Dutch conquest of Malacca from the Portuguese in 1641 saw the proscription of Roman Catholicism and the conversion of the existing church to Dutch Reform use. In 1741, in commemoration of the centenary of the capture of Malacca, the Dutch decided to build a new church. After 12 years of construction, Christ Church was completed in 1753.

Located at the peak of Bukit Melaka (St. Paul Hill) St. Paul Church is a historic building originally built in 1521 making it the oldest church in the country and throughout South East Asia. in 1548 the church was deeded to the Society of Jesus by the Bishop of Goa and received by St. Francis Xavier.

A modern replica of the Long Gone Istana (Palace) was constructed based on the Malay Annals, written in the 17th Century which tell the glory of the palace. Exhibits range from traditional royal headdresses to a variety of Malay weapons and traditional textiles. Few dioramas showed the foreign traders during the glorious era, the well-known Admiral, and the Hall where the Sultan gathers with its ministers and foreign envoys.

Our final site for a memorable photo capture with a beautiful mosque just by the shoreline of the famous Straits of Malacca sea.
