Cameron Highlands is nestled atop the central mountain range of Titiwangsa with an elevation ranging between 800 to 1600 meters from the sea level, Cameron Highlands is the highest point in Peninsula Malaysia that can be accessed by road. Considered to be one of the few places in Malaysia that serve as a habitat for a wide variety of flora & fauna with more than 700 species of plants that grow here. Cameron Highlands is known as the tea-growing estate, vegetables farm & flower nurseries.

This one-day trip journey is made for travelers who have limited stay in Kuala Lumpur and want to explore attractions outside the city. The journey started quite early in the morning (0530hrs) and the whole duration of the return trip would take approximately 12 hours.

It’s a full and packed itinerary and it is best to do it on weekdays (Tues-Thurs) to avoid the road and local tourist congestion on weekends/public holidays.

The main highlight of the tour is visiting the tea plantation. Here I would normally bring my guest for a short walk into the tea bushes sharing the history and briefly how our local tea is being harvested and processed.
By the time we reach the tea center, you will join a group led by the in-house guide for much detail of the tea process. Next, you might want to try out their tea shop overlooking the enchanting lush green of the tea plantation.

The initiative local, Mr Tan established this farm in the ’70s. Currently has about 500 species of insects, butterflies and moths. Other interesting reptiles of a few species of snakes and various types of flowers and plants.

The Time Tunnel Museum provides a unique opportunity to gain insight into the progression of Cameron Highlands’ development from pre-World War II until the present day. Originally known as the Experimental Hill Station, the establishment of Cameron Highlands by the British was primarily driven by the rapid population growth in Malaya and the need to cultivate agricultural land to support the influx of immigrants from China and India.

The museum’s extensive collection of artifacts, donated by previous British officers who worked in Malaya during the colonial era, was curated by a local collector, Mr. Kok. These items offer a glimpse into the region’s rich history, showcasing the evolution of Cameron Highlands from its humble beginnings to the vibrant destination it is today.


Malaysia’s diverse population encompasses a rich tapestry of ethnicities, including the indigenous Orang Asli people. The Orang Asli are the original inhabitants of peninsular Malaysia and represent a distinct cultural group that predates the arrival of Malay Muslims. With an estimated population of 180,000, most Orang Asli resides in remote areas and maintain a traditional way of life, with approximately 50% still adhering to their ancestral customs.

Visit the prominent Senoi tribe, one of the largest and most significant groups in peninsular Malaysia and take the opportunity to participate in an authentic cultural experience by attempting to use a blowpipe, one of the indigenous tools used for hunting. Our knowledgeable guide will provide historical context and practical instruction, ensuring a safe and engaging encounter with this ancient art form.

Take in the serene ambiance and indulge in the simple pleasure of nature as you explore the park’s short hiking trails. The Lata Iskandar waterfalls and its surroundings offer an idyllic respite from the hustle and bustle of city life, making it the perfect escape for a day trip.

Payment & Refund

Booking Deposit

  • Pay a 50% deposit or full by Credit Card or Pay Pal
  • For deposit payment, the remaining balance will be paid in cash on the tour day. We prefer local Malaysian Ringgit currency.
  • Full payment in cash on the tour can be arranged. Only apply for a booking made less than 10 hours before the tour start.

Refund

  • Deposits and payments are fully refundable in the event customer change their mind.
  • To receive a full refund, a minimum of 12 hours notice of cancellation prior to the tour’s scheduled start time is required.
  • No refund for unused service.

The journey from Kuala Lumpur to Cameron Highlands takes around 3-4 hours by car or bus (depending on traffic conditions, it could be really bad during weekend and local holidays)

Ideally, spending 2-3 days in Cameron Highlands is recommended to fully experience the beauty and charm of the hill station. This will give visitors enough time to explore the various attractions, engage in outdoor activities such as hiking, trekking, and cycling, and sample the local cuisine.

During this time, visitors can also take a leisurely stroll through the tea plantations, visit the flower gardens, and immerse themselves in the local culture and way of life. By spending more than one day, visitors can take their time to explore and enjoy the natural beauty of Cameron Highlands without feeling rushed.

As a local guide, I would suggest that the number of days to spend in Cameron Highlands depends on what activities and attractions you plan to do. If your primary objective is to enjoy scenic tea plantations, a one-day trip to Cameron Highlands is sufficient. However, visitors should prioritize the main attractions and leave out other less important activities such as visiting markets, rose gardens, and bee farms to maximize their time.

By doing so, visitors can fully immerse themselves in the beauty of the tea plantations, explore the Mossy Forest, and visit other popular attractions such as the Butterfly Farm and Strawberry Farm. However, if you wish to engage in outdoor activities such as hiking and trekking, or if you want to experience the local culture and cuisine, it is recommended to spend 2-3 days in Cameron Highlands.
