Kuala Lumpur for Cruise Travellers
A private Shore Excursion with Local
Straits of Malacca are known to be the busiest maritime highways and cruiseliners from all over the world shall pass these straits. Port Klang is one of popular Malaysia’s ports of Call for cruiseliners to make a stop due to its location as the biggest port in the country and also the entry to the capital of Malaysia, the city of Kuala Lumpur.
Cruise companies mostly would offer city excursion ‘seat in coach’ tours onboard and for some travellers who would not prefer to go on buses, they can hire local agencies and another type of transportation for a round trip tour of Kuala Lumpur city.
The Private Kuala Lumpur city Excursion that I provide for cruise travellers is somewhat comprehensive and covers almost all the ‘must-see’ attractions in Kuala Lumpur. With careful consideration of the time available to you, the itinerary is made flexible to ensure you will get back on time and don’t have to become a ‘Pier Runner’.
Additional information Port Klang-KL City:
- Distance to KL City is approximately 60km
- Drive journey would take about an hour (depending on traffic) since it’s going to pass the industrial city of Shah Alam and a few other busy suburbs during morning peak hours
- My advice for travellers planning to take the KTM train to the city, there are a lot of risks that travellers might not back to the port on time.
KL International Airport Flight Stopovers/Layovers
Travellers who fly between Europe and Australia and other Asian countries would probably have their flights make a stopover at KL International airport, Some travellers might have their flight cancelled during transit.
For travellers who might have at least 10 hours or more stopover/layover, you can take the opportunity to sneak and take a glimpse of Kuala Lumpur city. It could take approximately 6 hours round trip from the airport to the city and back. If you are stuck for more than 24 hours, my honest suggestion is instead of booking the transit hotel nearby the airport, just grab a cab or take the train and stay for a night hotels downtown Kuala Lumpur.
Or, should travellers need my local advice and suggestions, or to go for Kuala Lumpur City Sightseeing, you are always welcome to send me your email.
