to Elephant sanctuary

“The question is, are we happy to suppose that our grandchildren
may never be able to see an elephant except in a picture book?”
– Sir David Attenborough

Educational Day Out to Elephant Sanctuary

Kuala Gandah Elephant Sanctuary, a haven for elephants located in Malaysia! As a conservation and rehabilitation center established in 1989 by the Malaysian Department of Wildlife and National Parks, the sanctuary aims to protect and preserve the elephant population, which has been threatened by development and human-elephant conflict.

During your visit to the sanctuary, you will have the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the conservation efforts being undertaken to protect these gentle giants. As a professional local guide, I will take you through the center and share with you the stories of the elephants and their journey to finding a safe home.

In addition to interacting with the elephants through feeding, cleaning, and bathing, you will also learn about the research conducted at the sanctuary on elephant behavior. This research helps us understand how to better protect and care for these majestic animals.

As part of its commitment to protecting the elephants, the Kuala Gandah Elephant Sanctuary also offers programs such as the “Elephant Relocation Team,” which relocates elephants from areas of human-elephant conflict to protected areas. By participating in these programs, visitors can learn more about the challenges faced by these animals and the efforts being made to address them.

By visiting the Kuala Gandah Elephant Sanctuary, you are not only supporting the conservation efforts for elephants but also gaining a deeper appreciation for the importance of protecting these magnificent animals for future generations.
